Bead Maze, 2016, Aluminum, epoxy paint, stainless steel hardware and footings, 183 x 366 x 318 cm

A playful nod to the child’s toy, this enlarged bead maze represents the freedom and mobility that urban transportation provides. Site-specific colours reference Metrolinx trains (green) maneuvering through the city’s infrastructure (grey) while benefiting the environment (blue). Scaled to an adult’s body, the tubing and brightly coloured beads suggest a network in motion, swooping and sliding, or simply paused and preparing to depart—just like the daily train service.
